GLACIER BAY
Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve
Glaciers are formed when snow is compressed over a considerable amount of time. Eventually the weight of the compressed snow slides down a mountain to form a glacier. Calving occurs when an end piece or terminus of a glacier breaks away. It makes roaring thunderous sound.
The number of ships allowed to cruise into Glacier Bay National Park and Reserve is limited to ensure the preservation of the park and its wildlife.

Mountains and Mountain Goats
Glacier Bay National Park is filled with beautiful mountains. At close glance you may even catch a glimpse of cascading waterfalls, mountain goats or bears.
A View from the Bow
Even on a cloudy day, the majestic mountains and glaciers are breathtaking. Take a closer look from the bow of your cruise ship.
